Linden Kitchen and Bath now in its third generation

  • Formerly Linden Sash and Door, this Linden kitchen shop is 70 years old
While browsing through the inviting array of kitchen designs in the showroom at Linden Kitchen and Bath, you might not realize that this beautifully designed space is actually the same location of her grandfather's business 70 years ago, when it was known as Linden Sash and Door.

"My grandfather, Richard Robins, started his business of building windows and doors behind Linden Lumber (now Sloan's Equipment)," said Michelle Robins, the third generation owner of this family business. "The he moved across the street, and we've been here ever since."

Michelle's parents, Tom and Judy Robins, took over the business in the late 1970's and Michelle purchased it in 2000, after earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design and working in California for several years.

She changed the name of the business to Linden Kitchen and Bath to reflect her focus for the business, but added that kitchens have always been part of the business, even 70 years ago. "my grandpa would drive his truck to Howell where Aristokraft Cabinets were stored," said Michelle. "He'd load up the truck 'like the Beverly Hillbillies,' with cabinets stacked up on top of each other."

Today, Linden Kitchen and Bath is a destination for every product you would need for a kitchen or bath renovation, from cabinetry and hardware to backsplashes, countertops, lighting fixtures, vanities, sinks, faucets and more. They even carry kitchen appliances from Wolf, Subzero Bosch and Asko.

"There's so much more to choose from today than there used to be," said Michelle. "Now the choices are endless."

The store is featured on several social media sites, including Houzz, Pinterest, Facebook and their own website, lindenkitchenandbath.com.

Michelle has created a "dream team" to assist with each client's project, including manager/designer Justin Farrington,  operations manager Lisa Mayner, in house architect Stefan Francesconi and Larry Patterson, our master installer who works hard to get each project completed.

Linden Kitchen & Bath has always felt very much part of the community as a long-time business and supporter of local schools and organizations.

This business had a facelift of its own two years ago when a driver with a medical issue drove into the front exterior of the building. "I'm glad to say he's OK, and we were able to re-do our exterior with a new stucco finish, new  windows and lighting, said Michelle.
